Dr.-Ing.
Martin Junius
Engineer by trade.
Photographer by passion.
After receiving a PhD in electrical engineering and technical computer science from the Aachen University of Technology, Chair of Communication Networks, professional life is now taking place in the telecom industry, working as a manager of a consulting team and living with family in Cologne, Germany.
Interest in photography started as a gradual process in the 90s with Scottish landscapes, then more seriously with the birth of daughter Jennifer. Meanwhile sort of a passion. Travel and landscape photography is still a major part of the portfolio, but also people and portraits, and in particular cityscapes, the urban landscape, come into play.
Finding the residues of human endeavours in both natural and artificial structures, not necessarily getting spectacular or even "nice" images is the main motivation for taking pictures.
Images have been on display at an exhibition and in the programme magazine of the Cologne Adult Education Center, an exhibition at the Natural History Museum of Luxembourg, as well are being used by advertising agencies and publishers world-wide.
Photographic activities in Cologne are part of the projects and shooting sessions of the first Stadtbild Köln workshop group at the Adult Education Center, and the ex-flickr, now ipernity Cologne Meeting Group.
